It’s been just over a year now since we decisively decided to adopt. As friends’ pregnancies have come and gone and they are now in full pablum & pampers mode–how does one adoptive mom pass her (figuratively speaking) prenatal time?

Well, we’ve been in full “make-work” projects mode around the zook home for the last couple months since we submitted our dossier and are finished for now with paperwork. It helps to use this waiting period–where we won’t expect to hear any bit of news from our agency for months and months–to get some of those nagging odds & ends knocked off our to-do list.

From paint touch-ups to organizing the pantry and  playing basement “tetris” to laying patio stones, you could say that we are living in “the projects”!

We dug up where our pooch had discoloured the grass at the bottom of our deck stairs to pour some patio stones

I used Flower Pot from Benjamin Moore to paint the walls behind the tub in the en suite. Sewing lining on the linen curtains is next on my list.

During the winter we had some water leaking through our pine ceiling and had to tear out some boards to find the leak. We finally got around to patching and painting the pine panels in place today.

What a great story of romance & revenge!

While things are taking shape or being “formed” on the outside (you keeping busy and all), that dream on the inside is also taking “form” or shape!

By the way, Hooz the handsome repair man?

…are you sure the color used in the bathroom is flower pot? I went to benjamin moore and the color they had called flower pot was quite dark, like a brownish pumkin color.

      Hi there,
Thanks for bringing this up. I double checked my colour swatches and the one for the bathroom is the Benjamin Moore affinity colour Florencia AF-225, not Flower Pot which was a runner up colour…but didn’t make the cut:)
      Sorry about that!
